Mediatrice Mukeshimuremyi

Mediatrice Mukeshimuremyi is 35 years old, married with 2 daughters. This family grows: beans, sweet potatoes, corn, vegetables cassava, etc.

Mediatrice's main income generating activities include operating a shop, selling bananas and growing coffee. She started growing coffee in 2002, motivated by her neighbors who grew coffee for a long time which earned them many returns. When she got married in 2000, her father-in-law gave her 60 coffee trees as a gift for marrying his son. She currently grows 360 coffee trees and estimates to produce 100 kgs of coffee cherries this year.

Need of a cargo bike/coffee bike:

She needs a cargo/coffee bike primarily to transport her juice and bananas to the market. Currently she hires taxi bicycles to transport them, she would prefer her husband to transport the produce on their own bicycle. Her husband could also use the bicycle to transport water for building mud houses in the area which would generate USD 5 per day.
