Wooden Bike Classic 2006

The first Rwanda Wooden Bike Classic was an astounding success, with more than 3,000 Rwandans crowding into the Kibuye soccer stadium and lining the streets to watch the first ever mountain bike race in Rwanda, followed by a singlespeed race. The day's events culminated with a wooden bike race. NOTE: Rwandans took the top three places in each event, despite pressure from two former Tour de France racers, Alex Stieda and Jock Boyer, one of whom, Boyer, won the Race Across America in June.
